Volunteers prepare for Special Olympics Duck Dash Sunday in Riviera Beach

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. —

Volunteers tagged 5,000 rubber ducks Friday in preparation for the race at the Rapids Water Park in Riviera Beach Sunday.

The proceeds go to the Special Olympics of Palm Beach County.

"Special Olympics is always more important to me, because I do tennis, bowling, swimming and I did all four sports," said Brad Davis, the ambassador of Special Olympics Palm Beach County. "That’s why I’m always involved in Special Olympics over like 30 years."

Once you adopt a rubber duck for $5 each, you'll get a number. On Sunday, thousands of rubber ducks will be released down the lazy river, and there will be prizes for the first four ducks that make it to the finish line.

About 3,000 ducks have already been adopted, and there is time to purchase ducks online. To adopt a duck, click here.
