FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —

New England Patriots defensive star Stephon Gilmore has tested positive for the coronavirus, ESPN and the NFL Network reported Wednesday, adding to the list of positive cases around the NFL and prompting more questions about the future of upcoming games and league protocols.

The cornerback and 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year joined quarterback Cam Newton and practice-squad defensive lineman Bill Murray on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
