A corporal with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office captured a video of a tornado traveling north toward U.S. 41 Sunday morning.
Multiple tornados were spotted Sunday as Florida was hit with severe weather, particularly in Southwest Florida.
The National Weather Service determined that an EF2 tornado touched down in the south Fort Myers area Sunday morning around 8 a.m.
In Charlotte County, north of Fort Myers, an EF1 tornado with winds of 110 mph left behind a path of destruction, according to the weather service.

In Lee County, at least 28 homes were destroyed, with an additional 62 homes damaged and unlivable. More than 7,000 were without power and as many as 200 people were displaced.
