ANNA, Ill. —
An Illinois substitute teacher's quick actions to save a choking fifth-grader at lunch was all caught on camera.
Ten-year-old Ryan Buckner told WSIL-TV that he took too big of a bite from his corn dog at lunch. That's when he started to choke.
"I couldn't think straight and I was scared," Ryan told the TV station.
Sadie Carwyle was substitute teaching that day and quickly realized something was wrong.
"He looked at me. He had his hands like this," putting her hands around her neck. "I automatically ran over here. I turn him around and I started doing the abdominal thrust."
