EDDYSTONE, Pa. (Video by KYW via CNN) —
After seven decades and a journey across the world, a Pennsylvania veteran's class ring is home again.
A Dutch Army officer made the long trip to the U.S. to reunite the ring with its long-lost family.
KYW reports the ring belonged to Joseph Sullivan who fought in the Korean War.
"How the ring ended up in the Netherlands... that's something we will never know, unfortunately," Dutch Army Lt. Col. Jos Groen told KYW.
KYW reports that a Dutch soldier somehow came to be in possession of the ring before giving it to another Dutch soldier who shared the story with Groen. Groen then made it a mission to get the ring back to where it belonged.
