'This is a nightmare': Gas station manager fired after glitch sold gas for 69 cents per gallon

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Video above: KOVR via CNN) —

A manager at a California gas station was fired after accidentally selling gas for a fraction of the actual cost — 69 cents instead of $6.99.

"Well, it was a mistake that I did, you know," John Susina told KOVR. "And I thought, 'this is a nightmare.'"

The glitch allowed hundreds of customers to save thousands on premium gasoline, he explained.

"And I put all three prices on except the diesel, but the last one kind of didn't go, you know, right," he said.

The decimal for the gas price went into the wrong spot, which had customers posting on social media to spread the word about where to get gas for 69 cents per gallon instead of the intended price of $6.99.
