With gas prices reaching record highs, WPBF 25 News has ways to reduce gas use and find the cheapest prices in your area.
The U.S. and Florida broke records Wednesday for the second day in a row for the price of an average gallon of gas.
In Florida, the average for a gallon of gas went up by 6 cents overnight to sit at $4.21, according to AAA.
The national average is still higher at $4.25 per gallon. This beat out the previous record that was made in July of 2008, without inflation taken into account.
Compared to other states across the country, Florida is not in the top 10 for largest increases in price over the past week or most expensive markets, according to AAA. The largest increase over the past week was Rhode Island at 58 cents per gallon and the most expensive market is California at $5.34 per gallon.
