12-foot alligator captured on Delray Beach

A massive alligator was captured on Delray Beach by Florida Fish and Wildlife officers Wednesday morning.

The Delray Beach Police Department, lifeguards and wildlife officers responded to nuisance calls for the gator. It was transported safely to a local farm.

Could Palm Beach and other barrier islands face similar fate from major hurricane?

If it can happen to Sanibel and Pine Island, it can happen to Palm Beach and other barrier islands.  

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, Floridians on the east coast are watching closely the devastation and recovery that's occurring on the west coast's barrier islands.

Many people are wondering what would happen if a similar storm hit South Florida or the Treasure Coast.

Gas prices drop over weekend as Florida's gas tax holiday begins

Florida’s gas prices dropped over the weekend just as the state gas tax holiday went into effect, AAA reported Monday.

The tax holiday began Oct. 1 and will go on through the rest of October.

The tax holiday suspends the state’s 25.3 cent tax on each gallon of gasoline.

According to AAA, Florida’s average price for gasoline was $3.26 per gallon on Sunday – the lowest daily average price since January.
