Former wife of NASA astronaut looks back on Apollo missions as agency prepares for Artemis launch

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. —

NASA is scheduling the next launch window for the Artemis I mission after it was scrubbed Monday.

The agency’s first Moon mission in 50 years has many thinking back to the program that started it all — the Apollo missions in the 1960s and 70s.

Anita Mitchell, who is now the vice-president of external affairs for Margaritaville, was married to NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell, the Lunar Module Pilot and one of the three astronauts who walked on the moon during the Apollo 14 mission in 1971. Edgar Mitchell died in 2016.

Massive waterspout spotted outside Florida resort

DESTIN, Fla. —

A massive waterspout was captured on video in Florida Tuesday morning.

Boo Freeman took the video in Destin outside the Silver Shells Beach Spa and Resort.

Freeman said he took the video just before 6 a.m.

In the video, you can hear Freeman say "That's a biggun!" as the waterspout moves east across the ocean.

Sister station WDSU meteorologist Lee Southwick said this waterspout is a tornadic waterspout.

"There are two types of waterspouts: fair weather waterspouts and tornadic waterspouts," Southwick said. "This is a tornadic waterspout, which is what it sounds like - a tornado over water. It forms the same way a tornado would form from a thunderstorm over land."
