New 911 feature allows you to upload life-saving information to your phone

There's a new life-saving measure you can use on your phone right now.

In 2019, a system called Rapid SOS was added to 90% of dispatch centers across the United States.

It enhances dispatchers' ability to track where 911 calls are coming from. As of May of 2022, people can now upload personal health information to their phones. So when they call 911, dispatchers see the information you've uploaded.

"Your profile will be shared with dispatchers so they can have a better idea of your treatment plan," said Tracey Bearden, a 911 coordinator in Des Moines, Iowa.

The technology also allows dispatch to more accurately track a caller's location, which can be helpful in the direst situations.

"Let's say you call 911 and you were stuffed in the trunk of a vehicle, they're going to see you as you move. So as long as you stay connected to 911, then they can see you moving along," Bearden said.

The 25-year-old Vingegaard, who was runner-up to Pogacar in his first Tour last year, excelled in the scorching heat that enveloped France this month and came out on top of a thrilling duel with Pogacar, the big favorite at the start of the race.

Incorrectly painted lanes have drivers doing zig-zags on California road

HOLLISTER, Calif. —

A newly repaved street in a California community is causing confusion for drivers and community members.

The lanes were incorrectly drawn.

"I saw it later in the afternoon on my way home from work, and I thought, 'Woah, this is the strangest thing I’ve seen,'" said Hollister Mayor Ignacio Velazquez.

The city redesigned the street to add a bike lane and central circles on the road. Their goal was to add those obstructions to slow traffic and prevent people from using the street as a drag racing strip.

PHOTOS: Supermoon graces skies worldwide

Did you catch the supermoon?

There was a full moon Wednesday night, and at the same time, the moon was closer to Earth than usual. That combo is called a supermoon.

The closer proximity to Earth can make the moon appear slightly bigger and brighter, weather permitting.

One name for Wednesday’s full moon is the “Buck moon” — a reference to the time of year when new antlers are growing on male deer, or bucks.

Monty Norman, composer of the James Bond theme, dies

Composer Monty Norman has died at age 94.

While that name may not ring a bell for many, his work could be stuck in your head all day. Norman wrote one of the most iconic theme songs of all time, the theme for James Bond.

Born in 1928 in London, Norman started playing music on the guitar. He performed with big bands and even played in acts with comedian Benny Hill before he began writing songs. Those early tunes included songs recorded by Tommy Steele and Cliff Richard.

Norman eventually began writing for musicals, which is what brings us to Bond.
